When over-the-counter painkillers aren’t enough, our pharmacist can supply prescription-strength naproxen for painful periods — no GP appointment needed.

A 15-minute consultation with a GPhC-registered pharmacist. Supplied under a Patient Group Direction — the same medicine a GP would prescribe.
How bad the pain is, how long it lasts and what you’ve tried. If anything suggests it’s more than period pain, we’ll say so.
Stomach, kidney and heart history, other medicines, and whether you could be pregnant.
A course to start at the first sign of your period, with instructions on how to take it.
The pharmacist checks the full criteria at your consultation. If this service isn’t right for you, we’ll tell you what is — and there’s nothing to pay.
Only branches that offer this service are shown. Prefer to walk in? Just come to the counter — a booking guarantees the pharmacist is free.
At the first sign of your period or of pain, then regularly through the painful days. Starting early works better than waiting.
If your pain has changed, is severe, or doesn’t respond to treatment, you should see a GP — naproxen may help symptoms but the underlying cause needs proper assessment.
We offer a private contraception service — ask in branch or see the contraception page.
