Ear wax removal, done gently

Blocked, muffled or itchy ears? Our Sandwell Pharmacy team removes stubborn ear wax by microsuction or gentle warm-water irrigation — whichever suits your ears on the day — in a private consultation room. No GP referral, and appointments are usually available within days.

How it works

1 · Soften first

Use olive oil drops two to three times a day for 3–5 days before your visit. Softened wax comes away far more easily and makes the appointment quicker and more comfortable.

2 · A quick check

We look in both ears first. If syringing is not right for you on the day, we will say so and you will not be charged.

3 · Microsuction or irrigation

A gentle suction device draws the wax out, or body-temperature water flushes it — our team uses whichever is safer and more comfortable for your ears. Around 30 minutes for both ears.

Tell us about your ears when you book. Irrigation is not suitable with a perforated eardrum, grommets, a current or recent ear infection, or previous ear surgery — in most of those cases microsuction can be used instead, and our team will advise the safest option. If you have sudden hearing loss or ear pain, speak to a pharmacist or your GP first.
