Covid boosters take a couple of minutes and go into the upper arm — you can usually have yours alongside your flu jab in the same visit.

The NHS autumn Covid-19 booster programme is narrower than in earlier years — targeted at the people for whom Covid still poses genuine risk. For autumn 2026 that means three groups, and if you're in one of them, the Sandwell Pharmacy Group can vaccinate you from 1 October.

Here's the eligibility picture, and the one-visit trick most eligible patients should know about.

Who qualifies this autumn

Adults aged 75 and over (including those turning 75 during the campaign). Residents of care homes for older adults. And anyone aged 6 months and over who is immunosuppressed — through conditions like blood cancers, or treatments like chemotherapy, transplant medication and long-term immunosuppressants. Outside these groups, the NHS isn't offering routine boosters this season; our eligibility checker confirms your position in under a minute.

Flu + Covid together: one visit, both jabs

If you qualify for both vaccines, have them co-administered — one appointment, one arm each, done for winter. It's clinically safe, saves a second trip, and it's the option most of our eligible patients choose. Select 'Flu + Covid-19 together' when booking; co-administration slots run from 1 October when both programmes overlap.

Booking and what to expect

Appointments run Monday to Friday, 10am–5pm in 15-minute slots, booked online on our vaccinations page. You'll get a confirmation, a quick health check on the day, and the jab itself takes seconds. Mild arm soreness and a day of feeling slightly off are normal and pass quickly.
