Generic Co-codamol 8/500mg Tablets combine paracetamol 500mg with codeine phosphate 8mg for the short-term treatment of acute moderate pain when painkillers such as paracetamol, ibuprofen or aspirin alone have not worked. Packaging and manufacturer may vary.

  • Adults and eligible adolescents aged 12+: follow the exact supplied leaflet; commonly 1–2 tablets every 4–6 hours when required.
  • Do not exceed the stated maximum daily dose.
  • Use for a maximum of 3 days only unless advised by a doctor.
  • Contains codeine, an opioid which can cause dependence and addiction.
  • For 3 days' use only.
  • Contains paracetamol; do not take with any other paracetamol-containing medicine.
  • May cause drowsiness. Do not drive if affected.
  • Not suitable for children under 12 years and subject to additional codeine restrictions.
  • Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
  • Store according to the current manufacturer's pack/leaflet.
  • Do not use after the expiry date.
