Chlorphenamine Oral Solution 2mg/5ml (150ml) is a sedating antihistamine liquid used for symptomatic relief of hay fever, allergic rhinitis, urticaria, reactions to foods or medicines, insect bites and other allergic conditions. The liquid format is useful where tablets are unsuitable.

• Adults and children aged 12 years and over: 10ml every 4–6 hours as required, maximum 60ml in 24 hours.
• Children aged 6–12 years: 5ml every 4–6 hours, maximum 30ml in 24 hours.
• Children aged 2–6 years: 2.5ml every 4–6 hours, maximum 15ml in 24 hours.
• Follow the exact supplied pack/leaflet for younger children and product-specific dosing.

• May cause significant drowsiness; do not drive or operate machinery if affected.
• Avoid alcohol.
• Do not use with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within 14 days of stopping them unless advised by a healthcare professional.
• Seek advice with glaucoma, prostate problems, epilepsy, liver/kidney disease, pregnancy or breastfeeding.

• Keep out of the sight and reach of children, preferably in a locked cupboard.
• Store as directed on the current pack.
• Do not use after the expiry date.

Chlorphenamine maleate 2mg per 5ml oral solution. Excipients vary by manufacturer and may include purified water, glycerol, maltitol, citric acid, sodium benzoate and flavouring; check the supplied pack/leaflet.
