Cetirizine Oral Solution 1mg/ml (200ml) is a sugar-free antihistamine liquid for the relief of nasal and eye symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, including hay fever, and for the relief of urticaria (hives). This 200ml liquid presentation is suitable for patients who prefer or require an oral solution rather than tablets.
• Adults and children aged 12 years and over: 10ml once daily.
• Children aged 6–12 years: 5ml twice daily.
• Younger-child dosing depends on the exact licensed product; follow the supplied pack/leaflet.
• Use the supplied measuring device and follow the current manufacturer's instructions.
• Do not use if allergic to cetirizine or any ingredient.
• Seek pharmacist/doctor advice with significant kidney impairment, epilepsy or risk of convulsions, pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• Cetirizine can cause drowsiness in some people; do not drive or operate machinery if affected.
• Do not exceed the stated dose.
• Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
• No special storage conditions are generally required unless stated on the pack.
• Use within the period stated after first opening and do not use after the expiry date.
Cetirizine hydrochloride or cetirizine dihydrochloride equivalent to 1mg cetirizine per 1ml oral solution. Excipients vary by manufacturer and may include sorbitol, glycerol, propylene glycol, preservatives and flavourings; check the supplied pack/leaflet.
